The Devil and Father Amorth, Friedkin’s documentary, presents the ninth exorcism of an Italian woman as conducted by Father Amorth, a man known in religious circles as a prominent “celebritized” priest. In 2017, Friedkin returned to the subject of exorcism, outing himself as a somewhat reluctant believer. Rumors swirled around the film’s production, and many crew members were quoted as believing the project itself had been possessed. The now-classic horror film was more profane and more illogically sadistic to its young female lead, Linda Blair, than any film that preceded it. In 1973, director William Friedkin unleashed The Exorcist on an unsuspecting world. If you're not confident or experienced in combat, pick up a Vulture. The FDL is the default choice, with the Mamba, Krait, Python, Chieftain and Assault Ship being pretty good alternatives. If you're looking for a PvP ship, look around in the medium class. They are too slow to either fly away or chase down an enemy, and said enemies will happily boost around you, outside of your firing arc without being hit. You mentioned ganking, but neither of those ships will defeat a prepared ganker. The ships have relatively similar module slots, so it's possible to exchange modules and try both. If you are planning to do combat, I prefer the Anaconda's hardpoint layout because I can do a top/bottom split for weapon types, while in the Corvette, your size 3 hardpoint will be obstructed by the ship Better jump range, better suited for mining, doesn't have to be unlocked and you can downsize the shields if you're not planning any combat. But generally when I encounter one by itself in open I assume the person flying it is an easy mark, because if they weren't they'd save the vette for the CZ and fly something else.įor your use case, Anaconda. ![]() It's a great PVE combat ship, the best by my estimation. ![]() In a 1v1 against just about any faster and more maneuverable ship, I'd put my money on the Vette high waking out every time. Lots of time, to be sure, since it's a tanky son of a bitch. Even without reverb cascade mines, it's just a matter of time. All those big guns and big shields don't count for shit when your opponent can just boost away at will to recover every time their shields drop. Which is why it needs support to actually be useful in PVP. ![]() Just about any ship properly outfitted for combat can bury a Vette if they're determined enough because ultimately it's so slow that its opponents can engage and disengage at will and there's nothing the Vette pilot can do about it. And if and when it drops your shields, you just boost away and recover while hitting it with your long range weapons since it can't catch you and can't return accurate long range fire. Which means if you can stay behind it and pop chaff any time it manages to turn its guns towards you, you're pretty safe. Which is exactly what I would do against a Corvette in a 1v1.Įven if it's optimally outfitted for combat, it's still a big, slow target that is probably relying on gimballed/turreted weapons in order to actually hit anything other than other big, slow targets. It also means when I do fight, I'm mostly fighting big ships and popping prismatic shields with reverb cascade mines and disabling drives quickly, because most people who mine or trade in open don't fly paper. Most of what I do as far as PVP goes is piracy, which means flying less than optimal builds for combat in order to carry hatch breakers, manifest/wake scanners, collector limpets, and cargo. Everything you said about those ships is true in regards to the Corvette, but I don't fly an FDL, a Mamba, or a Chieftain.
